Arc Partnership delivers property services across Nottinghamshire, the East Midlands and beyond; Abstrakt brought me on to handle the full build. Craft CMS, Twig, Alpine.js and Tailwind made up the stack, chosen for the same reason I reach for them often: lean, fast, and easy to hand off to other developers down the line.
The design itself is understated but well considered, and my approach followed the same principles I bring to every build: minimal dependencies, close attention to accessibility, fast loading, and animation used only where it earns its place rather than as decoration.
Graphics at scale
The design uses large background patterns and decorative SVGs that overflow the main content grid, elements that sit outside normal document flow and need to scale and reposition correctly across every breakpoint. This is the kind of thing that looks trivial in a design file, drop a graphic behind two overlapping sections, done, but it's a genuine craft to implement well. Getting positioning, scaling and layering right across the full range of breakpoints, without clipping, awkward overlaps or odd behaviour on unusual viewport sizes, takes patience and a fair amount of trial and error.
Responsiveness was handled in both directions. Down to narrow mobile, everything holds together cleanly. Up at wide desktop, the site fills the full viewport properly rather than just centring a fixed-width column, with the decorative elements scaling to match.
The codebase itself was built to be picked up by other developers after handover: organised, predictable patterns, nothing overly clever. Not a flashy brief, but the kind of build where care shows in the details, the ones that make everything just feel right once it's finished.
